Hello,

Haven't posted any art to the site for a while, so I decideded to wait for a theme, and that theme is DOOMSDAY!!! One of my latest art projects was to trace down the instances of the first Doomsday. As with most of my projects, there are always some other underlying themes, in the case another type of Doomsday, the Doomsday of comic art collecting. First up (or last up depending on the order you are viewing) is the great last page, splash page from the recent Superman / Wonder Woman #7. While this is not offically any type of first Doomsday appearance, it does match up with the infamous four page "Doomsday is Coming!!!" knock knock knocking on Heavens Dawwawawawoor pages in the different Superman titles way back in 1992 heralding the coming of Doomsday. A few interesting items about this page is that it is inks over blueline (aka xerox, copies) of the original pencils. More than a few pages of comic art I have bought recently have not included the original pencils underneath, and I often see the raw pencils and bluelined ink art being sold separately these days. My personal preference is for inked art, and the inked bluelines are usually much cheaper than the pencils. Whether the bluelines are art, that's for each person to decide. I also purchased these from the artist/inker in Brazil. I have been purchasing more and more art overseas as well. Not really a problem either, just interesting that it is being "outsourced" or "overseassourced" more and more these days. I was told the pencils for these and several of the other pages featuring Doomsday from this issue were not available, as they were left in a cab. Seems I've heard that story before, so the next time your comic art goes missing, be on the lookout for "Reverend Jim"...
