DescriptionNova #11.4 comes from two of the quickest pen's and ink's in the west! The Brothers Fraim. Give these guys a few details and this is what you get. Mind you that they also made The Terrible Totem look cool! Really happy how this turned out right up to the wooden placard blurb on the bottom. Can't say enough words on how quick and professional Brian and Brendon are. Commission them and see for yourself. For this commission I really wanted to use a hand full of western heroes, but settled for The Ghost Rider(who later became The Night Rider and then The Phantom Rider),not to jam up the piece. The Totem is a personal favorite from an old issue of The Rawhide Kid that a cousin of mine let me read when I was young(actually I think I just looked at the pictures). Back then I thought he was scary! Our story so far: Nova has used Doctor Dooms time machine to travel back to an exact moment in time to prevent a horrible accident that has left his girlfriend Ginger Jaye in a comatose state. Unfortunately The time machine itself has been at fault and has taken Richard Rider back in time and space to Camelot where he met The Black Knight and King Arthur himself. Using the time machine once more set for the desired date, The man called Nova finds himself in another era and place in time, which leads us to............ Now: The year is 1872. The place Bison Bend Montana. For months the townspeople have been terrorized by a monster not of this world. The man called Nova arrives just in time to team up with Carter Slade The Original Ghost Rider to take on the Terrible Totem. To keep a long story short, The Ghost Rider uses his Black Cloak of Night to appear headless, confusing The Totem ,while Nova flies into him using his strength to push The Totem over a cliff falling in to the river waters below. The Totem does not float and sinks to the bottom.(Basically the same ending as The Rawhide Kid story but with water) :) The Ghost Rider thanks Nova for his help and once again Richard Rider activates the remote control to Doom's time machine and is gone in a flash of light. Next issue: The Masters of Evil! Update: More spectacular colors by my Pal Javi Solanes. Really like how he touched up The Ghost Rider who is basicaly white to begin with. Additional modern version can be seen below. Social/Sharing |
