Description

One of the highlights of SDCC2019 was finally getting to meet painter extraordinaire Jon J. Muth. I was originally introduced to his work via his collaboration with Kent Williams and the Simonsons on Meltdown, but in recent years, I�ve really been taken by his portraits, particularly of redheads! Much thanks to my longtime friend Allan Spiegel for doing me a huge solid getting me on Jon�s list, and much thanks to Jon for the enlightening conversation and for creating a spectacular painting!

I remember meeting Jay for the first time at one of my early Comic Con trips back in the late 80's, shortly after he completed the first Moonshadow series. He was quiet and reserved, but very warm and friendly. I think at that point the only works he had produced were the Dracula graphic novel and Moonshadow. But that was more than enough to make me fall in love with his watercolors. To this day, it's stiill my favorite medium that he works in. This is a stunning example. I have a "Redhead" too, but she's a little more under dressed. heh-heh!
