DescriptionOn view. I had this framed to display Frank's hand in labeling it as "Elektra Graphic Novel page 30" including the squiggles of his pen, top and side. He used vellum as a medium due to how he liked the way it let the ink flow.I love the symmetry of the piece, how the top almost reflects the bottom in shape. All the movement is perfectly captured in time, one leading into the other. The top panel with Elektra slicing the Hand ninja in half as his brother takes her knife in the face. The bottom where the Chak Chak of the taken spear slices the two ninjas as she confronts all those surrounding her. Miller in all his martial glory. Ahhh..... Social/Sharing |

This is ABSOLUTELY incredible, Mr. Bedwick! Following the whole tale through your "photo documentary" - from acquisition, through restoration, to framing - was truly inspiring, and to see the end result here is a resounding finish. A tale of passion, recovery, and rediscovery - and I don't mean the grpahic novel. :) (I like your ending better :) )
This OGN was released my freshman year of college, after years of patiently waiting (and seeing teaser images in Amazing Heroes preview issues) when money was tight. The $20 price tag for a hardcover OGN was unheard of and like a splash of cold water, and out of necessity I made the decision not to pick it up right away.
My buddy - far smarter than I - was not so deterred, and I got to read his (and immediately realized my mistake - I didn't need FOOD - this thing was sustenance enough!)
Having a page from this must be exactly as wonderful as your terrific comments so eloquently capture. Again, an amazing journey you shared with us - thank you for posting every step, and sincere congratulations!
