DescriptionFrom the moment he appeared on the US comics scene, Alex Nino was a talent like no other. With a unique flair for incredibly intricate organic-like machinery, he was in fact suited for any genre and I was both taken by his Captain Fear and Space Voyagers strips (to name just two)...Strangely enough, considering his inclination (and my appreciation) for wild graphic experimentations, I've been grabbed by this unusual (for him!) quiet page. This comes from the Space Clusters graphic novel, a high point in a career that has so many, with fantastic hand-painted pages and exploding panel structures that remind me a lot of Philippe Druillet's bolder works. Looking especially at this book, it's safe to say that my page is highly UNrepresentative of the whole work, displaying a serene scene more in line with Jeff Jones' short cosmic tales than with anything else... Note: it is painted black and white, not inked... Social/Sharing |

Nino is a magician. I agree that this one isn't too representative of his work but darned if I'm not drawn to it as well.
