I'm quite thrilled to add a page from one of the two idiosyncratic series that made me stand and take notice of Alex Nino: Space Voyagers (the other one, being Captain Fear)...

With only 5 five-page episodes as a back-up feature in the short-lived Rima the Jungle Girl comic (itself a beautiful, overlooked series that got axed far too early), it could hardly qualify for the hit of the season trophy.

Except that... Alex Nino's art bore no comparison to anyone else's... And this page clearly demonstrates how. For instance:

- The first panel, with its incredible spotted background on the white silhouettes (it's all paint, folks!), with only a few foreground figures emerging, perfectly delineated.
- The bottom panel with its beautiful perspective on the pathway leading to the city, showcasing hundreds, maybe thousands, of hostile locals.

All this and the very first occurrence of the "Sci-Fi with a hard edge" stories that would be one of Alex Nino's trademarks when he'd join Warren a few years later...

What could be wrong with that one?

Al, another stunner. We seem to have similar taste for sure. Alex Nino is my favorites of the Filipino artists, and he is far beyond all the others. Yes, even the redondo brothers. I am blessed to own a complete Rima Voyagers story and it is a prized possession. Congrats on owning this masterful page by the one and only Alex Nino.
