He became a better artist and did much better work as he matured and I'm sure Barry Smith, were he to look at it now, would see only the things he would change. However, maybe even more than the cover, if I had to choose one page by him, this is the one I would role up and slip into the back pocket of my memory jeans (I'm being metaphorical here, guys, don't shoot me). This book was a revelation. Comics didn't have to be only about superheroes.

Iconic image from the very symbol of heroic fantasy... I stil remember reading Conan stories for the first time and then, buying every single novels ever written by R.E. Howard... If there was a single page from Eric's collection, for me that would be the one !! And then I would ask for a few dozens of covers ;-)

This is one of the greatest pieces of art to ever grace the CAF galleries. The work speaks for itself. A black and white masterpiece.
