Description

The title is by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. It's been exactly a year since I last posted. I spent the year nursing a heartbreak, having separated from my domestic partner nearly a year ago now. He decided to move far away to New York City from Los Angeles which for us might as well be an alternate dimension. Long distance wasn't an option so we separated. I learned a lot about myself this past year, ran two marathons and took up krav maga, cared for both my little dogs and learned how to live alone but not be lonely.

Moreover, I learned that I am more ready than ever to love again.

I love that Marvel took a chance on showing such a passionate love between Hercules and Wolverine, even if they were alternative versions from another dimension.

The pose reminds me of many of the dramatic poses from the covers of Conan or Heavy Metal magazine (such a great image-Hercules is Conan-esque with his big sword but Wolverine is grabbing Hercules' leg like a guy would who was grabbing a girl).

It was clever that the Gods disapproved of Hercules and Wolverine not because they were a same sex coupling but because one was a god and the other was mortal. Wish these two lovers had more time together but "lovers be lost" when Hercules sacrificed his own life to save his friends and his beloved James. Like James, we wished them for more time together as well.

Thanks to Greg Pak and Stephen Segovia for breathing a new queer spin into this alternate earth Hercules and Wolverine.
