Description

Sergio Tarquinio (Cremona, 1925) is an Italian cartoonist, painter and engraver.
He's considered one of the masters of Italian comics, especially in the western genre.
At the end of the '40s, in Argentina, Tarquinio joined the group of Italian artists called "Asso di Picche" (from the name of the character they've created), so he had the privilege to meet Hugo Pratt and to work with him for a few years.
Although this beautiful illustration is much more recent, I can't help but notice how that early experience may have inspired it (see additional images)
