Description

This illustration appeared in the October 1956 issue of American Heritage, accompanying a long excerpt from Bruce Catton's upcoming book, "This Hallowed Ground". The Houlihan illustration pictures President Lincoln and generals Sherman and Grant, as they discuss the final push during the Civil War.
