DescriptionIt happened when I was waiting in line for Adam that I couldn't decide on a Brandy or Big Barda Sketch. I'm a big Cho fan but I had recently picked up a Arthur Adams Sketchbook and the Barda drawings just blew me away. So when I got up there I let Adam decide. He humbly said that he couldn't do Brandy justice like Frank could so he drew a Barda sketch. I'm very happy that he did. Now I have a very soft spot in my heart for the very married Mrs. Miracle thanks to Adam. ( P.S. I want to thank Tony Marine for the nice comment he left for me and apologize for losing it when I accidentaly deleted the wrong gallery. Thanks Tony and sorry about that.) (P.P.S. Someone I love has dibs on this so don't even ask... And no Tony, it's not you... not that we can't advance the relationship at some point ;)Social/Sharing |

Problem solved - I'll re-comment... Excellent piece!! I really liked this period when Adam was doing these fairly detailed pencil pieces just before he started doing the marker stuff he's doing now. Nice pickup!

This may be one of my all time favorite Big Barda illustrations of all time. I love it.

STUNNING!!!! But would you really expect anything less from Mr. Adam Hughes?!?! One day I'll get my very own. Until then, I get to admire lucky collectors like yourself. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

I agree whole heartedly with Tony. I love his pencils from that period. With Adam, it's all about the eyes. The rest of the body looks pretty damn good also. Cheers! N.

There's a reason Adam Hughes is so highly regarded -- he just gets everything right. And this is a prime example. The feminine figure, impossibly strong, but still rendered in such a way to convey a lithe and supple body. And he makes us feel the weight, not only by putting numbers on the side, but also, through the heavy shading on the handle and dumbbells that contrasts sharply with the rest of the piece. Finally, the eyes. Those magical eyes, that reach out and charm through the paper and graphite. Great great great piece. Congratulations!

That's AH, a heavy pin-up there, but she can carry it!

Excellent Piece! You are quite lucky to nab a sketch from the one and only Adam Hughes. What a great piece to have in your collection.
