DescriptionJust back from the Windy City Pulp and Paper Convention where in partnership with good friend and fellow collector Doug Ellis we acquired this fantastic Virgil Finlay illustration! It first appeared in Fantastic Novels Vol. 4, No. 5 (Jan. 1951) as an interior illustration for Arthur Leo Zagat’s novel: “Drink We Deep” (p.81). It's not often that you find a Finlay of this quality and we are certainly lucky to add this to our collections!Social/Sharing |

One of the great time periods in Finlay artistry. The stipple and hatching work paired with the fantasy and classical themes soars with spirit.
