Description

This is something you don't see often. I am sure they are out there; I just don't see them.

Here is a great splash from Planet Comics 37 (cover dated July 1945) featuring one of the few lead female sci-fi characters Gale Allen. Allen was a female adventurer in space. The other interesting thing was that she was drawn by Fran Hopper, one of the hand full of female comic artists at the time. In that same issue appeared Mysta of the Moon - also drawn by Hopper. I think you'll agree that Hopper's work fit in well with the sci-fi motif.
