Description

This was the cover to 2000AD #1977. The comic started in the year 1977 so when they reached that number of issues, they asked one of their famous art-droids to do a cover featuring the fictional editor Tharg and many of the top characters from the comic's history including Dredd, Strontium Dog, Nikolai Dante, Slaine and many more. This is a hommage to Ezquerra's own cover to Prog 129 from 1979

Carlos got the perspective on the dome of St Paul's cathedral wrong so there is a paste over patch. His handwritten note at the top write of the art reminds him to redo the section from Dredd down to the hooded man at bottom right of the art.

This piece was also used on a trade collection of 2000AD's greatest hits.
