DescriptionA very unlikely but highly exciting combination of talents! Gene Day's powerful pencils are fantastically enhanced by Alfredo Alcala who inks the ship, while Rudy Nebres takes care of the rest. All three mesh beautifully to produce a unique vision that perectly sets the scene for this 18th century African coast story. As a nice plus, the text is only present on an added vellum page. I quite prefer it that way since I feel there is really a big (too big!) chunk of text that clutters the page so much it hides the art (see additional picture for reference). As it is, it's a very nice splash! Social/Sharing |

..If you had not written anything about Alcala's contribution in this piece I would have thought: Dang! This vessel seems inked by him..But you have perfectly illustrated this page full of grace. It's another victory for the excellence!

Sometimes you get to find that kind of improbable piece, intriguing at first, but the end result is so much more than the addition of individual talents!...

Beautifully inked and detailed page! You can definitely see Alcala's inking style in the ship. Tremendous piece!
