DescriptionIt was too hard to resist the urge today and I had some money lying around which I saved since ECCC 2015. Saw this GRAIL 11 x 17 BoG by Tim Sale for sale, and immediately purchased this from Tim's agent, Jason of ES (Essential Sequential).This piece was done to sell as a print. The first batch of prints debuted at Denver Comic Con 2015, May 23-25, 2015, and will be for sale at the Heroes Con 2015, June 19-21, 2015, as well as future conventions. Now I own the original as well as the print version! What can I say.. JAWDROPPING.....ASTOUNDING....mind-boggling....those were the reactions I got, when I first saw this piece! I thought it was very clever how Tim made this piece a bit different from his usual BoG (Batman On Gargoyle) pieces, by adding in the defeated rogues below the gargoyle. Seeing the face expressions on Penguin, Solomon Grundy, Riddler, Joker, Ivy, Scarecrow, and a dangled Catwoman pretty much sold me! Pair that with great architecture, gargoyles, buildings, and a stormy rainy sky creates a gloomy atmosphere where the Dark Knight seems more menacing and makes this piece extra special! Beautiful! I hope Tim puts a little extra in your commissions since you appear to be putting his (& Jason's) kids through college. :p
