Description

This painting was used in Heart of Empire, and took Bryan so long to do that afterwards he released it as a Limited Print (this is the original). The painting measures approx. 28" x 17".

If you read his website he says "this painting was a device to enable me to deliver a little exposition without it seeming forced. I wanted to design a romanticised image of events near the end of The Adventures of Luther Arkwright, showing the way that real events are sometimes turned into legend. "

And then he goes on at length about using the old compositional techniques to create the tableau, and about Golden Sections, radiating lines, etc. In fact, I remember Bryan giving a whole class, at a Con, about the techniques used to create this painting!

Nothing if not enthusiastic, is Bryan.
