"In 1992 a Kid 'n Play Marvel Comics comic book was created and based on the Kid' n Play NBC cartoon show (1990-1991). The Kid' n Play comic book lasted nine issues. Kid 'n Play is a Hip-Hop duo that includes Kid (Christopher Reid, b. 1964) and Play (Christopher Martin, b. 1962) from New York. Known for their Hip-Hop and New Jack Swing sound, Kid 'n Play’s lyrics and themes focused on positive lyrics and party-friendly tracks. Kid 'n Play recorded three albums between 1988 and 1991: 2 Hype (1988), Kid 'n Play's Funhouse (1990), and Face the Nation (1991). Hurby "Luv Bug" Azor, the producer for Salt-N-Pepa was also Kid 'n Play's manager and producer during the early portion of their career. Many of their performances highlighted their friendly dance-hype personalities, especially with their trademark dance the Kid 'n Play Kick Step. With their successful Rap career, they also had a morning cartoon show and the popular 90s movie franchise House Party. Kid 'n Play were also notable for their dance known as the Kid n' Play Kickstep, first seen in their video "Do This My Way," and described in the song "Do the Kid n' Play Kickstep," from their first album, 2 Hype. In addition to their music, Kid 'N Play have starred together in six feature films, all based on hip hop culture-inspired characters and themes; the duo also appeared on the soundtrack albums to these films. Five of the Kid 'n Play films are entries in the House Party series (1990-2023). The first two House Party films (1990's House Party and 1991's House Party 2) also featured the then-relatively unknown Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell." "The final issue of the series is a bizarrely awesome combination of disparate pieces of early 1990s pop culture with the entirety of the Marvel Universe hunting down Kid 'n' Play!"
