I picked this piece up as a birthday present for myself over at everydayoriginal.com I've been a fan of Dave's for a while now and while there are some amazing finished paintings, I really enjoy these more loose pieces a lot. This one caught my eye right away. I love the painterly brush strokes and the muted but rich colours, the touches of red and especially the highlight around the nose and lip. I am super happy I managed to snag this piece and hopefully it will be one of many.

Dave was kind enough to email me a scan of the piece so I changed the image. But I left my scan in the additional images as well.

Now I just need a Greg Manchess helmet piece and a nice Dan Dos Santos! Oh and the watermarks are obviously not on the original but I figured I'd add Dave's website.

Def. check out everydayoriginal.com The pieces are all 500 bucks and less and there are some reeeeally great artists that post on there, including Donato and of course David!

You should check out the site. I know you have very specific tastes but I think some of the pieces are right up your alley.

That's what I'm afraid of. I could see TOO MANY things I like and end up spending all my Big Wow and San Diego money! ha! Maybe I'll check out the site after the convention season is over.

Love the mood in the face. Gives a lot of character. But the confidence in the brushstrokes in the armor are supremely great. They pull together beautifully from a distance.

You know, I thought the exact same thing when I saw this piece. Either Joan of Arc or an older Arya Stark.
