Description"The Grim Reaper offers the android Vision the chance of gaining back his humanity. Sharing penciling chores with veteran George Tuska, a young Jim Starlin draws the first three and last seven pages. Dave Cockrum inks the entire issue in an attempt to forge consistency. By comparison, Starlin's work is more thoughtfully designed. Faces and figures are more concise and placed more deliberately within the panels. Though less experienced, Starlin's only Avengers story is a memorable one."Pencil Ink Comic Artists Blog: Avengers #107 - Jim Starlin art Social/Sharing |

Well done! And as the former underbidder on this page twice when it was up for auction in previous years, it is quite frustrating that I did not pony up enough moolah to pair it with my page 28. Issues 107 and 108 were a great storyline. It will be interesting to see where page 2 hammers in the ComicConnect auction next month.

Great page! The overlapping panels make for an interesting layout and that last panel is one for the ages. Starlin & Cockrum are a great combo. Congrats!

Dave Cockrum proved once again that he was just as great as an inker as he was as a penciller ! Fantastic piece !

Wow! What a pivotal point in a classic storyline! The Grim Reaper offers the Vision a human body--That of Captain America! This scene, skillfully penciled by a young Jim Starlin, shows the Reaper making the offer in the second panel and the third, revealing the Vision's surprise by showing only the glint in Vision's eye! What an interesting way to hint at his reaction. The scene then switches to the Reaper's explanation of the offer as he begins to tell of the origin of the Avengers team. The page ends with a iconic drawing of the original Avengers team. It's a great page with Starlin's art beautifully enhanced by the masterful inks of Dave Cockrum, artist extraordinaire. Fabulous page, great pick-up!
