Wow, this is where it began. There are a lot of places where one can say that Golden hit his peak, but "Nam was special to a whole generation. Realism vs cartoon in the perfect balance, Thanks for posting.

I remember seeing the first 2 pages done on one big board at Golden's place, they were 95% done. I had to BEG Albert to purchase this art...explained to him the "historic" value of the work, both on the boards and by the artist; Michael Golden. "But it's not super hero work..." Albert told me... "Yeah, I know, and Golden poured his heart into this job, where the super hero work is nice, it's not THIS!" I replied... He has what I feel Golden's 'best' illustrated story, trumping all else. And it's a 'complete' story, not to mention Golden did the lettering as well... Such great work all thru these pages it boggles the mind!!!
