DescriptionSPEED MCGEE (Flash villain) by Greg Larocque and Brett Breeding, from WHO'S WHO UPDATE 1988 #3. For some unknown reason, the published book featured ink work by Kieth Wilson (credited as Kez). Kieth told me he did his ink work on an overlay, so the version featured here is the original inks over the original pencils. I like both inking jobs, but I really have to wonder why DC didn't publish this wonderful original version. If anyone could clue me in about this, I'd be very thankful. Social/Sharing |

Speed McGee may be the only super-villain motivated (in part) by his wife having a fling with the hero. LaRocque was a great Flash artist, and this is a cool piece!

Can we get a retelling of this story in a DC Black Label please?

Looks really cool and finished. They may have dropped the backgrounds as a separate piece in order to make it no inks and just colors.

Wait his name is Speed McGee and in the backgroud we see pills and a needle? Might as well have called him Meth McGee.
I agree with Marcus above. It seems like it had to be re-inked because editorial may have needed a color hold for the background art. Printed, this Breeding version may have looked too busy for the page.
