DescriptionProbably as close to a "Grail" piece as I'm likely to get anytime soon. The Sword of Shannara was one of the first fantasy books I read when I was a kid...long before I read The Lord of The Rings...and I remember being captivated by the incredible artwork created by the Brothers Hildebrandt for the original publication in 1977. This interior illustraion in particular, near the end of the book, was always one of my favorites because of the intense drama of the scene - the pain in Palance's face. The evil look in Stenmin's eyes. The dagger cutting down the unfortunate prince. I'll probably never see or own the original, but this will suffice! Signed by both Greg and Tim.Pencil on vellum 18" x 23" Social/Sharing |

This is grail, even if it's "only" a prelim! Stunning! Congrats!

A beautiful piece. And by the way: The frame is also wonderful and absolutely fitting.
