Description

I�d seen this piece of Jody�s at the first IX I attended back in 2016. 5 years later, I finally decided to add it to the collection. Created as the cover art for �The Riven Shield� by Michelle West, part 5 of her Sun Sword series, published by Tor in 2003. The image was nominated for a Chesley Award in 2004 (Best Paperback Cover). Jody used David Bowie as reference for Celeriant and Albrect Durer for Kallandras and the souls in the trees were inspired by the symbolist painting "The Evil Mothers" by Segantini.

Those trees contain more story than the bard! This piece has adventure and horror to make a stroll through the forest a journey unto itself.
