DescriptionSO pumped to be able to add this amazing work by Arantza to my collection! I saw this at IX a couple months ago and knew I needed to find a way to have it. A few sales later and it’ll be on the wall soon! This was created as the image for the month of July for the 2022 George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire calendar, published by Random House. This depicts Jaime and Cersei Lannister embracing beside the corpse of their son Joffrey, just preceding their infamous sex scene in “A Storm of Swords”, what eventually became known as “the rape scene” from the television show. (If you’ve read the book, you’ll know events happened quite differently than in the show.) In any event, it’s a gorgeous work, and I couldn’t resist acquiring this piece of fantasy’s most famous incestuous twins.Oil on canvas, dated 2019 50cm x 50cm (19.7” x 19.7”) Social/Sharing |
