DescriptionThe Sphinx is dead.........Long live the NEW Sphinx......Richard Rider? After a last man standing battle with the Sphinx last issue the Ka Stone has found a new host, Richard Rider/Nova, and the Original Sphinx (Anath-Na Mut) is finally at rest after 5000 years. What will Nova do now that he has the power of a God? And what will The Avengers have to say about all of this? Beginning a bold new direction for the Man Called Nova that will effect everyone he knows! Many thanks to Joe Singleton who did everything here besides letters. Joe also helped me with the concept of the Nova/Sphinx. I look forward to working with Joe again in 2017. Jason Heichel will be back next month and will be sticking around for awhile! Not a bad thing! Before the Infinity Stones the Sphinx's Ka Stone was the "Premier" stone in the Marvel Universe. Here is a brief history of this artifact. The Ka Stone was originally a fragment of the Life-stone Tree, a collaboration of various alien species with many of the fragments ending up on earth after the space ship transporting them was shot down thousands of years ago. Around 5,000 years ago the Ka Stone was found by Anath-Na Mut in the temple of the Ka, after wandering in the desert for 90 years after his defeat at the hands of Moses and being expelled from his duties as chief wizard to Ramses II. The Ka Stone empowered Anath-Na Mut and turned him into the Sphinx. As the Sphinx he became an immortal, with godlike power, but he eventually grew weary of immortality and sought a way to end his life The Ka-Stone Gives the host the following abilities: Reality Warping Matter Manipulation Telepathy Energy Projection Enhanced Physical Statistics: Flight, strength, durability and ability to grow in size. All to substantial levels, the upper limit of which is unknown. Next month: Richard Rider adapts in his new role as The Sphinx and faces off against one of Marvel's heaviest hitters! Not to be missed! Social/Sharing |

Nice take on the Avengers!I tried to use the proper Avengers line up for this era. I think Wonderman may have still been in his Byrne costume though! No biggie! :)
