I asked Mr. Woodring about this piece because it seemed to be a lot of work for just a prelim. He answered that it dates back to the year 2000 and he used it "... as a tone guide, and work-up plan." Whether Jim Woodring is working with pencil, ink, charcoals, or paints, he just seems to master the media.

The skill and talent can't be quantified with pieces like this. More finished than most published pieces of mainstream books.

Jim Woodring's work is amazing! I love his idiosyncratic way of looking at the world. Great pick-up!

This is just so lovely to look at. That first panel is a thing of utter beauty and so perfectly establishes the setting for later Unifactor stories with Frank.
