Description

Out with Rainie, in with Rex - the synergy was too good to pass up. Another piece that was picked up at Heroes 2022 from the inscrutable Cam, but arranged some time earlier.

I've said before that I feel guilty commissioning Matt Allison - I'm just not worthy of the amount of effort that he puts into every single thing that he does. That being said, I compromised and went with a 'simpler' option, because daddy got to feed the monster.

Matt does not disappoint. I particularly love the expression on Rex's face. I thought the character would be an interesting choice, given the classic Cankor stylings. As usual, no shortcuts taken here. The background is particularly impressive, particularly the halo around his left arm. Madness!

I like what I'm seeing here. The combination of those different, signature textures applied to the background and character create a Cankor worthy piece! The feed the monster comment also made me laugh out loud. Nice pick up ML!

Love it! So much power radiating from both sides of the divided body, but the expression seems wistful and uncertain. Just like everything else he does, this screams Allison.

Great commission subject for Matt! Loving the intricacy on the right arm, with those holes, and the 2 different backgrounds is a great touch to match the 2 sides of Meta here. Congrats!

This is the simple option? Wow. Lots of TLC for simple. Love the detailed work here. Makes me think I should get him to commission something Batman for me. Hmmm.....
