Description

Boy! The wait between books on this series was pretty substantial, so I wouldn't blame you for giving it a pass. However, now that it's complete, I'll give it two green thumbs up, and urge you to give it a gander. Constantine + Swampy = Can't Lose.

Jeff Lemire once again delves into some deep, dark places and spaces. Mahnke absolutely kills it on the art too, working on some beautifully large paper - this example is 16.5" x 21".

Now that the story is finished, I'll need to give it a read. That last up close panel (half splash) is so eerie.

Hot damn this is so good! Great pick up M L!!! To say I'm...GREEN with envy is accurate but probably a bit too much on the nose for this one. :)

WOW - okay, point taken! I'm in! Gorgeous "summoning page" that veers from a "Frank-Quitely-on-overload" second panel down to a primordial, embryonic panel 5, to that final, incredible half-splash... Amazing work (and I love the tattered shoe in panel 3)! Thanks for the recommend, M L; I'm adding it to the list!

Awesome! I've been wanting to read this since it was first announced, as it was originally the project Lemire was going to do with Perkins, but which then led him to team up with Ram V. Now that the whose story is out though, I REALLY want to get it as sa collected edition, so I'll probably just keep waiting for that. In the meantime, it is lovely to see this beautiful original. Given that this story was conceived by Lemire pre-Ram V Swampy though, is it safe to assume this is still the Alec Holland version?
