Description

Batman: The World (German HC Cover), painted in acrylics on wood.
Thomas von Kummant graduated from the German master school for fashion in Munich, but works in the field of visual development for the film industry and as a freelance illustrator. From his very first comic (about the poet Goethe), his work received wide attention. His style is more painterly, for example he dispenses with contour lines in his figures and works everything out on the color level. Von Kummant works in the comics field mainly for the French market, which is why he was very interested in the German contribution to the anthology "Batman: The World", to which artists from 14 countries contributed short stories that are set in the respective country. As von Kummant puts it so beautifully: “As a comic artist, always follow your own visions. Unless you can do Batman. Then do Batman.”
The Joker pieces you can see in the additional pics on display at the "Faces of the Batman" exhibition are also a part of his "Batman: The World" Story.

Wow, SO many hues of blue! Easier saiid than done getting all those tones and textures with the same color palette! Congrats!

It's beautiful and uses the hues so spectacularly. Batman is very much amongst these legends.

Absolutely stunning cover for Batman:The World. Love this painting by Thomas von Kummant! The color palette is gorgeous. So many different hues of blue and black painted seamlessly together. Love the Batman figure standing on the rooftop, ready for action. The strange demons in the sky above him are seriously spooky. Just a great painting and a worthy addition to your collection!
