DescriptionBefore you all lose interest and get sick of my art posts, I'll post this to wish you all a Merry Christmas. This one is inspired by Ian Saint's love for Rocket Raccoon and Groot.The Art Days of Christmas 2022 has a Christmas card that I commissioned Jatinder Ghataora to create! This has Rocket in need of Santa’s cap for another one of his weapon inventions. As always, he’s aided by Groot. It’s so good, he used it for his own Christmas Cards. Jatinder can be found on CAF and the other socials and is available for commission work! But I found him here on CAF commenting on inktober posts. I’m more than thrilled with this one as he let me choose between three concept sketches, included a full pencil sketch as 8.5” X 11.75”. He then blew it up to ink at 11.75” X 16.5”. Not only that, but he also did a color underlay at that same size. That’s not all…he also did a pencil sketch on the package of Rocket! It arrived just in time over the weekend! Social/Sharing |

I always thought that Rocket was due for a breakout up to Deadpool level. Seems like Rocket has a developed enough characterization to pull it off; akin to Deadpool and Spider-Man

I'm sure Santa has it coming to him. Nobody is that generous unless they're trying to absolve themselves of some long ago sin. Merry Christmas!

Marcus, that is the best post ever. I feel honored beyond belief to have helped inspire an art piece for your collection. I am impressed with the thorough care that the artist put into this for you. It looks awesome. On a seperate, but equally important note, I must comment to the fact of whats going through Rockets head at this point. "Just a little closer... Just a little closer... Oh, I'm going to get that jolly mans hat. He won't even know what's coming. Cindi lou who is going to scream when she catches a glimpse of this guy without a hat. She's going to think its old dancing Joe thats always stumbling out of Starlins bar at 6am. What did you just say? No... I am not the Grinch you overgrown hyacinth. I just need that hat. What? I am not a clepto. I am just getting prepared for next years holiday special staring me as Bing Crosby. I've got it all mapped out. I'm going the get that frost giant Laufey to make it snow in Nor Cal. The look on Marcus and Ian's face is going to be priceless. What? I know he's not Elsa but he'll have to do in a pinch. Again with your constant negativity. Ya...! I know...! I know...! I am Groot! I am GROOT!! I AM GROOT!!! Damn... He caught me. And, a Merry Christmas to you old man."

Hahaha, I think you nailed it, Ian! And what a jolly fun image of Rocket, Groot and Santa Claus. Christmas hijinx at its best!

Mr Saint, Thank you for your kind words. You've given me an Idea for Next year. Bing did a duet with David Bowie Hmmm..

Man, I always thought that 'Rocket Raccoon' logo looked like a sled, whooshing along behind some shooting comet somewhere... Love the concept, and Jatinder infuses it with charm and style! Really sweet pick up, Marcus! Happy holidays, all!
