DescriptionMANIX MANIA ROLLS ON!A triumphant first appearance for Next Comic Art at SDCC 2023! Jiggy brought Harvey Tolibao, Jappy Agoncillo, Andrew Drilon, and Manix Abrera to booth 4503. Thank you Jiggy for the Next Comic Art hat signed by the team and the Manix designed t-shirt! They'll make my rotation of convention gear for sure. I saw genius level commission after commission all week long from Manix. A star was being discovered by a bigger audience right in front of our eyes, so I had to get on his list at this show as Next year may be too late. Make Mine Manix was my idea, but Jiggy said he was too humble to do that. Make Mine Marcus came from Jiggy, but then I said I would have to be drawn in it. Manix went with the straightforward choice which can still be played around with digitally in the future. The idea came together Friday night and Manix completed it Sunday at 4pm to allow for me to see the paints dry in my hands! The piece represents the circle of Manix fans and his fanclub that’s growing bigger with every piece shown! It has more room to grow. Even Cyclops fans are welcomed! This piece measures 8" diameter and Manix himself decided to sub in some X-Men to make sure the CAF audience would like it. Very bright colors that scanning mutes, so a photo in the daylight might be better. Thanks to Manix who took the time to get this done right as the last full color commission he took for the weekend. Every one of Manix’s commissions came with a smile and often resulted in more than one as new fans joined the Manix Maniax club! The Age of Manix Comix is Here! Social/Sharing |

This is a fantastic Manix piece! The Hulk's hair is so lush and has that fresh dyed look. You are one lucky Manix maniac my friend. A star was born at SDCC 2023 and his name is Manix!

Love the Ditko-esque Spidey head and the Hulk looking like he stepped out of a Vidal Sassoon ad. Glad Cyclops made the cut despite all of the Scott Summers hate out there. And I don't blame Iceman for looking a bit concerned - a guy made of ice shouldn't be so close to the Torch's flaming head. If Johnny were polite, he'd flame off around Bobby.

When you went up to me and showed me the pin, I said that it was such an awesome idea. I wish I had thought of it! Great Idea from Marcus Wai which Manix executed! I mean... Iceman looking at the Torch??? C'mon! Hulk's hair too!

Hilarious Manix commission! Love how Manix manages to capture and yet parody Marvel characters. His Hulk, Wolverine and Jean Grey are my favorites here. Each of them has a nervous, somewhat frightened look that we rarely get to see in their Marvel appearances. What's next? Is there going to be a Merry Manix Marching Society?
