DescriptionThe Paris Olympics of 2024 diving competition was hotly contested once again. However, no one has yet been able to hit the Triple Lindy since 1986 when Thornton Melon of the United States of America set the benchmark for difficulty. No one would have believed it if it wasn't caught on film (see below). That film is still being studied in schools by diving teams and physics majors. Roby Amor pays tribute to this one moment in time and all Olympians with a pencil commission secured through Next Comic Art.You were wondering where Crotch Goblin was during SDCC? He was busy at the county fair racking up awards like an Olympian! Social/Sharing |

One of my absolute favorites that I've seen from Master Roby. Inspired!

Seeing as how Thornton Melon gets no respect, it would've been even better to add Paulie to this piece, watching from the stands, in order to take attention away from Thornton. But damn, Amor captured Thornton's form perfectly!

Great choice of subjects. And so glad he featured the Triple Lindy.

Hahaha this is amazing, iconic even!
hadn't seen that movie/scene since the 90s probably. Danny Elfman killed it with the score on that film

Hilarious piece! Roby is so gifted at capturing likeness! Unfortunately, the "mind reading" functionality of the CAF app had a glitch this morning... or maybe my mind was just blank looking at this piece...

"Hey, yo, that was at least a 9.5. That was a triple! I don't get no respect!"

I'm glad Roby went a thoughtful and serious route in the depiction of the Triple Lindy. Thornton Melon would joke about a lot of thing but he never jokes about dives.

A more than fitting graphite tribute to the Triple Lindy! I always knew you had good taste, but the bar has been raised even further.

Awesome idea and execution. Doing the Triple Lindy! Love this movie and living in Madison, WI where they filmed part this on campus was a bonus when I moved up here.
