DescriptionShelly's artistic greatness on paper as you see here. What you don't see is the kind man seated with his charming wife who appeared at conventions bringing these drawings of a simpler time unaffected by the 90's grim and gritty comics world. His versions of the characters stood true to the heroic ideals that made them the icons they are today. Shelly's contributions may not have been recognized by the powers that be and went unsung for generations, but the fans knew with one glance at one of his works and appreciated everything he meant to comics. From the times that I saw him at conventions, he was never bitter and always friendly. It was as if his personality was an extension of the characters he drew. Ok. So maybe you would be able to see Shelly in the images of these Golden Age Heroes. Shelly was never the hottest superstar artist, but he was always a hero to the fans and those superstar artists that followed. Social/Sharing |

Great depictions of Shelly's greatest hits. Also, I could not agree more with your lovely sentiment about Shelly. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Shelly in person I did have the privilege of commissioning him. We exchanged Holiday cards every year and I always sent him a Birthday card, I am sorry I'll no longer have the opportunity to do so..

I was fortunate enough to meet Shelly in person several times at the Heroes Con and I stayed in touch with him after he stopped attending the show. It was always a pleasure to speak with him. This piece is a very nice representation of his work (I wish I owned it). Congratulations.

Love Shelly. His Hawkman wings are incredible. Great spot illustrations of each hero.

The artwork is absolutely definitely a freaking awesome masterpiece 🎨.
The written description of Sheldon Moldoff is spectacular. It almost made my eyes leak.
I honestly think Sheldon was under appreciated.
I had the pleasure of meeting him only once in 1996. I recall he was SuperNice and so humble
