DescriptionThis 18" x 11.5" original licensing illustration was penciled by Steve Lavigne and inked by Ryan Brown for a Mirage Studios style guide circa 1989.Modeled after the foam-latex costumes designed by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, this towering portrait of the Hollywood heroes in a half-shell was used to make the Starmakers Publishing Corp. cardboard stand-ups, posters, T-shirts, and Rolets pork rinds store display signs to promote the first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The film would go on to gross more than $200 million at the box office, becoming the most successful independent motion picture ever at the time. Social/Sharing |
