Description

I don't remember which was the first Crusaders team-up thing I got. My instinct is to say that it was the original Shield. But whichever one it was I wasn't even intending to make it a theme. I was just a one off cool idea to me. Then it kicked in this could be a whole thing - the Crusaders as I knew them when I started reading with interesting / appropriate counterparts.

I had a devil of a time figuring out who to pair up with the Web. Folks like the Shield's and the Fly were easy. But the Web? Stumped until I came across a pic of Daredevil's original costume and then it clicked for me. Kinda serious crime fighters in suits that were a little out there for folks like that. Chris had done such a great job on the Blue Devil one for me that he seemed like a nice fit. Glad I went with the instincts here. Very pleased with this one. Especially Daredevil. He could stand on his own as a great commission.

And on top of all that, Chris was kind enough to pass along the original layout idea he came up with. Most kind.

I've dug Wozniak's art ever since I first saw it in Excalibur. His work reminds me a little bit of Rick Leonardi here, and that's a high compliment from me! Great acquisition!
