I have to admit I have learnt more about George Wilson from you than anywhere else, one of the great TV comic cover artists and cannot think of a better place for this amazing cover than with you.

Well I must say that is the nicest compliment I have been paid in many moons. Thank you. I do apologize to everyone for the soapboxing I do on protecting these pieces. Missed this piece on ebay back in the early 2000s. Now to bring it home.

As you know, I own my all-time-favourite LIS cover (# 25), though I'd love to own the cover to # 24, a close second (and the first part of the Fall of Atlantis storyline). The # 13 cover was also a big favourite with me, but when the original cover art surfaced a few years ago, a lot of the background colour work had badly faded - so, sadly, I passed on that one . . .

Hey Terry: I am on the lookout for LIS 24 for you. I will let you know if/when I see it and get details. Isn't it so sad to see these covers faded/frame burned? I just cringe when I see it. I hope people don't get mad at me when I point this out, but I don't know how else to get the message out. You just can't frame these and leave them out ANYWHERE and not experience some fade. It is rough putting these babies back up after a short view but it's like seeing it again for the first time after you haven't seen it for a year! Sure you don't want to get your Australian buddy to work out a deal with you on number 19? Ha.Ha. Good to hear from you.

Hey Ashley! Nice score! I held off bidding on this one so I could get #16!! It's one of my two favorite covers for me of the Space Family Robinson series. I actually thought it would go for more. Maybe if it were in a Heritage auction it might have. brian

It is such a wonderful piece of art. Why in the world did the seller go to PIH? Glad they did, ha.ha. Love your Vic Prezio's by the way. His Warren covers are so wonderful. Don't tell anybody but I like them as much as Frazettas covers. Frazettas are very emotional paintings but kind of sloppy. Prezio's have that men adventure magazine style showing a lot of time went into the art he did. While it is nice Frazetta could knock out a piece in one night, it is hard to beat a Prezio, Kunstler or Minney that took some time to do. So congratulations to you as well. Ashley

And I also prefer Vic's work over Gogos. Not that I don't like Gogos or Frazetta, just have more of a childhood attachment to Prezio's work. His monster portraits on Famous Monsters are way more iconic to me than Gogos. Vic painted more detailed monsters which i loved and still love!

They stated it was a Prezio and I asked the seller how he knew this(I could see no signature) and he stated it had other work that Prezio had done written on the back of it(?). That answer did not thrill me. Have you got SFR 16 from PIF yet? That was the most exasperating experience with shipping, etc. My SFR 11 finally shipped out and I hope! to get Tuesday. Funny how your perspectives change on artists over the years, isn't it? It's like someone coming up to you and saying which would you rather have 200 prezio originals or one Frazetta. Sincerely, Ashley Batchelor

Sincerely, Ashley BatchelorThat's an old friend of mine who was selling the Jungle Jim artwork. I went and looked at it and it had a bunch of info on the back saying it was Prezio. I should have taken a picture because i can't remember it now. It easily could have been done by him. It had his look to it. It actually sold on Ebay while I was there! It wasn't something I wanted anyway. I went to see a bunch of other pieces he had and pretty much bought all of that stuff except for a couple of things. I've known him since the eighties and knew about the paperback covers he owned and hoped one day i could get some of them. Lots of time went by, but I did get what I wanted!

Sincerely, Ashley BatchelorI just got me FedEx tracking info today on the SFR 16. It was so frustrating using the Art Pack guys. Very nice people, but not really on top of things. I never even got an invoice for how much they were charging me. They didn't respond to my first emails although they did receive them, so I was left hanging for a while. I've waited a long time to get the package finally shipped. I won a non-art piece from a Profiles auction three weeks before the SFR one, and that never got shipped by the Art Pack guys, so i just told them to ship both items together at this point. Anyway, i hope yours arrives when it's supposed to and in perfect condition!

Yeah that whole process with PIH left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Are you going to post any of your new paperback covers? I love the ones you have posted! Your collection is truly wonderful. Unreal that you saw the Jungle Jim and know the fellow selling it. Good to talk to you. Sincerely, Ashley

All went well. Good luck on yours. Art is just as promised so I suspect your's will be too. No frame burns, etc. Really surprised looking at how long these have been in frames. Wilson stuff is SO BAD for fade. Art addiction? What? I don't have no stinking art addiction.
