Description

He's been teased for the last few issues, but Warlock finally meets the New Mutants in issue 21. Post Demon Bear saga, the girls are having a slumber party and the boys are playing naked by the lake... when Warlock makes impact! It's all out chaos as Warlock tries to get a snack and the muties try to keep things on the DL with their human guests. They decide to out Doug to save the day!

My annual SDCC commission from Bill. First time I set it up ahead of time, and he really went to town here. The smell of paint was delightful when I picked it up.

This commission is cover ready, what a magnificent piece by Bill S, he's truly the master for this early New Mutants work. He can still bring in this A-Game level to creations he started almost 40 years ago.

Them colors are TOO good. I'm sure so much better in person. The greyish green palette at bottom vs the reddish at top provides a killer contrast. Congrats!

This shows that Sienkiewicz is still elevating his style and skills to bring imagination, fantasy, with an edge of horror to new heights. If you didn't know the story, this is a battle of demons with a killing blow on full display. While techno based, Warlock is shown with more organic shapes in dynamic action.
