This is the original painting published as the cover to the vintage paperback novel A Lonely Walk (Paperback Library 63-421) by M.E. Chaber for the Best Selling Milo March series in 1970. This particular cover is infamous in McGinnis circles due to censorship issues with the art. As you can see in the scan of the published paperback I've included, the publisher opted to censor the work by insisting McGinnis add more material to the woman's bathing suit in order to cover up the butt crack. McGinnis was so incensed at the suggestion, that he refused to paint over it. However, the publisher wouldn't back down so McGinnis cut out a little piece of material his wife had lying around the house and stuck it on. But as soon as the art director send him back the original painting, McGinnis flicked it off immediately and it has been in its original state ever since!
