This is the original painting published as the cover to the vintage paperback novel So Dead the Rose (Paperback Library 63-396) by M.E. Chaber for the Best Selling Milo March series in 1970. This particular cover exhibits several elements McGinnis is best known for. First and foremost, a gorgeous and sophisticated "McGinnis Girl", as well as a wonderful example of his love for sophisticated high fashion and antique furniture. Furthermore the composition is a gorgeous example of his use of diagonal lines and triangular shapes with which to lead the eye!
