Oh yeah! Ripley was the template for every modern day female badass in contemporary cinema. I love all 4 Alien films, but the Cameron-helmed second installment is, by far, my favorite. Maybe not as tense and gripping as Ridley's initial chapter, but certainly (as Cameron himself put it) a wilder ride. As for Ripley, anyone who can outlast an entire squad of Marines is a badass in my book. Great piece! Of course now I will probably have to go and watch the movie again. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ethan Young captures the claustophobic feel with tight spaces and the Alien right up close. This time the final girl of this slasher movie is fighting back with more sci-fi firepower!
