Description

Do you remember the Hawkman feature in the dollar sized World's Finest Comics of the Bronze Age? It seemed that every time, Hawkman and Hawkgirl faced off without other heroes against a powerful villain, there was always a references to the Justice League being away on a space mission. I took the theme, and gave it my Legion of Super-Pets twist.

The Justice League and Justice Society are busy with the latest company-wide crisis. The Legion of Super-Pets is away on a space mission-too far from Earth to be of any aid. Only the least powerful member, the shapeshifting Proty, is on Earth when the Composite-Superman attacks. Proty is no match for the Legion of Superheroes powered villain. Drawing inspiration from his teammates and the pets of old, Proty transforms himself into the Composite Superdog (appearing as Ace the Bathound with a Superman cape). He may not have the powers of Superman or the LSH, but he does have a surprise for his fearsome foe: the Phantom Zone Projector. You cannot hear him, but Proty is barking, "Say hello to Zod when you get there."
