Description

Nothing quite as mind-blowing as finding original art out in the world... in this case, at an antique show. I believe this may have been owned at one time by the legendary Hearst editor Rudolph Block, and passed down through his family (?) I've long wanted a nice Opper, and just like that I have two.
There seems to be a fair amount of later Mauds, but I don't know that I've ever seen one from the strip's first decade. I think, based on information from the seller, and the date on the strip (no year), that this would be 1905 or 1911, but if anyone else out there knows specifically, please let me know.

UPDATE: Thanks to the Library of Congress online newspaper archives, I have been able to verify that this is from 1905 and is complete.
