As a "tribute" to Kane's #2, do you really believe this was intended as a cover for #38? Was Whitman reprinting interior contents of the King issues with #37? It is hard for me to believe they would want a cover that matches one they'd previously printed.

It is absolutely stunning ink work by Nebres, regardless.

This is great. Love Flash Gordon and this reminds me of the old animated late 70's early 80's show! Bravo!

I was shocked to learn today from this website that this was originally a Flash Gordon cover! It was actually published as a cover for Thane of Bargath 25 through Charlton Comics with the lady cut out of the cover. I have the issue on my wall of my art studio. I snatched it out of a bargain bin, completely blown away at such a good cover for such a unknown publication. I've always though it was a spectacular cover... Now I see why!

Thanks for sharing the original work here; its breath taking!
