DescriptionThis is a drawing in pen & ink depicting a scene from my favorite theme by Roy - In The Ruins. These drawings take place in the future (here 2350) after some cataclysm and the last remnants of humanity have taken to living amongst the ruins of civilization but seemingly more in harmony with nature. This piece in particular is done on the front of an envelope containing a short note to a person. It survived the NY postal systems intact. The stamp is placed at top right and that is exactly where the post office marked it. I traded several other RGK drawings and even paid a bit of cash on top of it. At the time, the person who I was trading with told me that I was crazy for giving up so much for one drawing. I've never second guessed the decision and couldn't be happier! Social/Sharing |

Can't thank you enough for parting with it. :)
Awesome of you to comment on it to show both sides of the deal this many years later.
I think this is generally how it goes. Always better to sacrifice a lot (whether cash and/or art) for something truly great rather than incur the bitterness of regret from parting with it regardless of how good of a deal it seemed at the time.
You can always get more money and the art is what you need the money for. ;)
