DescriptionSuper happy to own a page from issue 1. While not his 1st appearance by far, its Popeye finally in his own comic. Beautiful large golden age panel of a timeless classic character. Nothing beats Popeye and companies vernacular. I love it and it goes great with my graded 8.5 copy.Popeye and his Pappy feature prominently on this page 39 from "Spinach Revolt!" Social/Sharing |

Well blow me down! This was supposed to be my page dammit. Really awesome addition to the collection James. Bud Sagendorf is definitely the second best Popeye artist of all time, and probably my fav because I grew collecting those Sagendorf Dell comics. I kind of prefer his thick-lined approach over Segar's scratchier rendition. Despite it not being the original, in my mind it's the definitive Popeye.
