DescriptionI don't really believe in Grails as everyone's art tastes are constantly changing but for meaning to me, this has to be at the top. I still remember drawing Lord Satanis (no red flag warnings there. Geez, Mom. Were you even paying attention?) as a kid and being shocked by the results. Now I went from wasting all my time as a youth reading comics to wasting all my time as a youth reading and drawing comics. I guess that was a success. Thank heavens for sports or I still would not have gotten any action. Was it just me? Someone else had to have seen that little red squirrel? No? Oh well, thanks again to Neon Dragon for helping a desperate collector out and not totally hosing me in the process. :)I hope everyone finds that one special piece that will make you happy forever. Perhaps you will get lucky and find a great piece of art as well. Social/Sharing |

Is it blasphemous to use grail and Satanus in the same paragraph? Better watch yourself around lighting storms!

Easy to see how Lord Satanis would have been fun to draw as a kid. Congrats on landing your grail buddy!

What a mighty image for the birth of Lord Satanis! The entrance definitely leaves an impression as even Superman is left to look up in awe!

Superman pages like this were a big part of my childhood as well. And I fondly remember reading them endlessly when I could have been reading my school books. What a great example from those days! I always loved stories where Superman would go into the past and be confronted by angry villagers who would mistake his powers for signs of Satan. And in this story, he actually shows up! Perfect example of the classic Superman stories drawn by Curt Swan and Dave Hunt. I especially love the way that last panel is so much bigger than the rest, making Satanis himself seem bigger! Great work from a fun era!
