Another great re-creation by my friend, Filipino artist Jovi Neri. I coveted this cover when I was a teenager, and was very pleased to receive this!

Action Comics #591 is one of John Byrne's best covers of all time. Details-wise it is spectacular: Superb incredible architecture, 3 extra characters, 3 Legion members, 4 vehicles, and even the display in the store windows are labeled "books" and "hardware". It even has a drawing of Krypto. It also has a catchy word-baloon blurb, and just the fact that Superboy (who's not supposed to exist) is punching Superman just forces you to buy the issue to read the story inside! It also has speed lines and the explosion in the punch. The cover is the most "complete" cover of Byrne in a comic sense - word balloons, guest-appearance blurb, inviting cover, backgrounds, details, perspective. For all these reasons, Jovi just wanted to draw it for practice - plus the fact that he hasn't seen a scan of the original art to this surface online. Action, DC, and balloons are printed on the board, but the Legion and Krypto text and image are hand drawn. Size: 11x17
