I have been searching for this cover for years! It is a wonderful example of van Fleet's work and is a fantastic piece of noir artwork!

As a fan of Howard Chaykin, I was reading American Century, when I first encountered van Fleet's work for the cover to issue 5. van Fleet four more covers and was followed by the equally amazing covers of Glen Orbik!

But, the cover to #5 remains my favourite. So much so, that I was able to commission Howard Chaykin to recreate the cover of American Flagg! #4 using van Fleet's composition.

The art is 15x20 inches on 4-ply Strathmore illustration board. It's executed in acrylics, color pencil, and acrylic ink.
