DescriptionBeen a huge fan of Bart Sears' run of Wizard covers. Early on, being under contract he did many covers using the pseudonym 'Whitman'. This is not one of those. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw this one and that's how I knew I had to jump on it. Funny story which I have told before.. At one point I had like 7 or 8 different Wizard covers and the crazy big-head idea to try and collect the entire run (over 200?) Of Wizard covers. Luckily, I came to my senses pretty quickly as I realized how bad of an idea that was! Thanks for checking out my gallery Social/Sharing |

Wow, a complete run of 200 Wizard covers would have been amazing! Insane ... but amazing. Haha!
This one is truly eye-popping. That's one feral and excellently drawn Wolverine!!

Badass Wolvie by Sears! And a Wizard cover, awesome. Congrats! How many copies of the magazine did you have and are any still in the poly bag?
Getting all the Wizard covers does seem like a lofty goal but mad respect for even considering it at one point haha :)

I didn't know about him until the X-O Manowar run but went back and dug up his stuff at the time. I don't think I ever saw this one....It's a beauty!

And I'd give up this cover to touch you
'Cause I know that Duke feels me somehow
You're the Shamus to Logan that I'll never be
And I don't want the claw bones right now
And all I can taste is this comment
And all I can tease is your line
When sooner or later it's cover
I just don't wanna miss Groo tonight
And I don't want the worst of Wolvie
'Cause I don't think that they're Wizard fans
When everything's made to be top ten
I just want you to know who's the man
And you can't fight the Sears drawn babes coming
Or the moment of brutes in your lines
When everything feels like a doozy
Yeah, you bleed just to own comics guide

This Wizard cover is a knockout, showcasing Sears' bold, dynamic take on Wolverine at the height of the '90s comic boom. Sounds like you had a wild & crazy collecting goal going for a while. Better to pick and choose, though. Grabbing this one was definitely the right call!

Yikes! Could you find a scarier image of Wolverine? I don't think so. Striking cover of a feral Wolverine by Bart Sears for Wizard magazine! Bart does a superb job here of creating a frightening image of Wolvie--Slightly hunched own, his face contorted, his mouth open and displaying his fang-like incisors in what looks like a growl Sears does a great job of rendering Wolverine's musculature, seemingly drawing every inch of muscle. Love the figures at Wolvie's feet--the various arms and legs of recent victims. Fantastic inks here as well, I really like all the spot black Sears used, as well as the overall black background. It's a very powerful cover! Great pick-up, congrats!
